Welcome to the Vortex Online portal, this site acts as a community page for our online browser-based game. In order to login to this portal you must have a vortex online game account.

We're still working on the basic core design of the game. Today we totally changed how we plan on constructing the universe. Although we will stick to sectors we have changed our minds about allowing players to fly from anywhere to anywhere to more of a grid type layout that would require travel through some sectors to reach others.
This is to allow more defense and strategy for factions and an easier to understand galaxy map. But it means you will not be able to set a course from one place to another and simply log off until you reach it.
The galaxies will be constructed a lot like the X3 universe, only on a much bigger scale for anyone who has played that game. |

As most of the tools used to activate accounts will be contained within the game itself, for now we will be removing any accounts automatically that are not activated in 24 hours. This will stop of course once the game is live and in public beta testing.
Secondly if you change your mind about your name simply create a new account with your new name, login to your old account and use that to message me through the forums requesting its removal.
Finally, if someone has stolen the name you use on Legacy here. Message me in Legacy and I'll remove their account allowing you to create it in their place. Your account on Legacy must of been around for a year or more before you can place any claim on a name. |

We had a few signup problems at the portal launch, sorry to anyone who created an account early on as it has been removed. When you create an account and activate now you should have no problems proceeding to login to the portal forums.
If you find any other bugs on the portal please post them in the help forum for our development team to look in to. Thanks! |

Our portal website is now online, we have decided to keep all the community stuff outside the game this time around. The concept behind Vortex means that logging in to the game itself can be risky and depending on your location it will be ill advised to idle around. So we thought it would be better if people could check forums and news outside the game.
You can signup for the game right now if you wish, but you will not be able to login for quite some time. As game accounts are connected to the portal accounts we had to enable this. Also signing up now doen't guarantee you access during private beta, that must be earned. |
